Styled Wedding Photo Shoot

I had a wonderful opportunity to work with The Wedding Girls and Laura Lorraine Designs when they asked me to design a cake for their Palm Springs wedding photo shoot! The directions were simple: geometric cake with a minimalistic design. MUSIC TO MY EARS! Since I knew we were going to be working in the desert, I threw in some sugar sculpted succulents onto the cake.  For more photos check out: http://www.brookemerrill.com/brookemerrillblog/2013/5/15/palm-springs-ca-styled-wedding       Credits: Event Read more [...]

Networking!

Have you ever had a day where everything started on the wrong foot from the very beginning? Today was one of those days for me- it all started when my iPhone failed me and didn't set my alarm clock off at the proper time. Before and After- I’ve Come A Long Way

A year ago today (Valentine's Day), I made my first set of "designer" sugar cookies. At this point in my life, I hadn't even touched fondant, and had no idea how to work with it. So my first "designer" cookies were made with regular icing. The two dozen cookies took me 3 hours to make, because I just didn't know what I was doing. Fast forward to a year- I can now roll fondant in my sleep, and it's become a crucial part of my business! The biggest difference between me today and me last year, Read more [...]
